Publisher’s red and black marbled cloth (1 quire detached but present, lightly rubbed, lacking dust-jacket). ASSOCIATION COPY: ‘ To Mr & Mrs Higgs-Walker from Victoria Sackville Christmas 1926. With the very best of good wishes’. [With]: ALS from Vita Sackville West, SIGNED Vita Nicolson at the close, ALS is in envelope which is adhered to the front paste down. ALS reads: ‘Dear Mr Higgs Walker, how nice of you to write. I am so glad, you liked my Persian book- my mother told me she had sent it to you. Yes, I am off on the 29th & not much looking forward to Russia in January! But we have a grand expedition planned for April, which I think will be very exciting & great fun. You must come & meet my husband next summer at Long Barn (?) we hope to return together in May. Please remember me to your charming wife, and thank you again for your nice letter.
